This bag is pretty good if you need something akin to a parachute bag. It is about the same thickness of material, has a zipper closure (also has hook/loop fastening flap instead of button snaps like a chute bag) and can hold a good amount of stuff. It has two padded straps that can be used for carrying over your shoulder or carrying like a backpa

Because of the material that it is made from you can layer it empty in another bag (like a ALERT Dbag) and pull it out and fill separately if you pick up extra kit along the way in your travels or run into airline personnel that complain your single bag is too heavy and you need to cross load your kit between two bags to make things easier for the baggage handlers.
I cut off a star for three reasons: 1) it isn’t modular with any other Blackhawk bags so you can’t easily strap it to another bag (like an ALERT) and use its wheels to move around. 2) the hook/loop for the carry handles isn’t real strong and constantly allows the carry handles to pull apart (I’ve been wrapping the handles together with some extra hook/loop straps I picked up to prevent this from happening). 3) the shoulder strap lengtheners are your very basic figure eight configuration you find on kids backpacks or gym bags (but at least these are made with quality metal and not cheap plastic) and make lengthening and shortening the straps a time consuming ordeal. I’d love to see something more ingenious replace these metal keepers because going from shoulder strap to backpack length takes a good 5 minutes of fighting with the stiff nylon strapping and the keepers.
Overall a worthy bag that handles abrasion well and doesn’t mind getting thrown in the washing machine (keep the straps out though as the clips on the ends make an awful banging racket and will break the glass on front load washers). Read LessRead less about This bag is pretty good if you need
